Sarah’s 1978 album A Última Dança is a little Brazilian disco cover fest. Alongside «A Noite Se Vai», her Portuguese version of «Night Fever», there’s also a seriously cool take on Rose Royce’s «Car Wash», sung in both English and Portuguese.

«Night Fever» is one of the Bee Gees’ biggest hits from the Saturday Night Fever era. Musically, Sarah stays pretty close to the original. The stomping disco beat, strings, and familiar groove are all there.

But then Sarah’s female vocals come in, along with the Portuguese lyrics, and suddenly «Night Fever» takes on a wonderfully sweet Copacabana vibe. The Bee Gees in Brazilian disco mode, instantly recognisable yet charmingly different.
