Something

Phyllis Dillon

Treasure Isle, 1972

Phyllis Dillon was one of the great voices of Jamaican rocksteady and early reggae. In the late 1960s and early ’70s, she recorded a series of singles – as well as one full-length album: One Life To Live.

A must-have for any rocksteady collection – not just because of Dillon’s warm, clear voice, but also for the outstanding cover version of George Harrison’s Something. Soulful, stripped-down, and full of heart – a classic reimagined, Jamaican style.
