(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
Octopus 4
RCA Victor, 1969

Octopus 4 released Confluents in 1969, a rather unconventional French psychedelic album that weaves together a wide range of familiar themes and songs. On the second side, the Rolling Stones’ «(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction» also makes an appearance.
Their version starts off rather slowly, gradually building towards the intensity and pace of the original. Then, in the middle section, the song almost completely falls apart. Noises, isolated instruments, and voices suddenly stand on their own, everything becoming fragmented and deeply psychedelic. Only in the outro does the familiar «Satisfaction» theme finally return.
A wonderfully strange cover version that turns the Stones classic into more of a psychedelic trip than a straightforward rock song.
