Mr. Tambourine Man
Nadia Cattouse
RCA Victor, 1970

The British actress and singer Nadia Cattouse released her album Earth Mother in 1969 – and on it you’ll find a fantastic version of Bob Dylan’s Mr. Tambourine Man.
What makes this recording so special? An incredible drum break intro that immediately grabs your attention, plus shimmering steel guitars that give the song its own psychedelic-folk touch. A Dylan classic in a completely new sound.
Cattouse herself had a fascinating biography: in the 1950s she worked as an actress, later marrying arranger David Lindup (father of Mike Lindup, keyboardist of Level 42). On October 29, 2024, Nadia Cattouse passed away in London – just a few days before her 100th birthday.
With Mr. Tambourine Man, she definitely secured herself a little piece of vinyl immortality.
