Hold On I'm Comin'Machito

When Latin jazz meets Memphis soul, it sounds like this: Machito Goes Memphis.
Cuban-American bandleader Machito was a pioneer of Afro-Cuban jazz. As early as the 1950s, he fused Cuban rhythms with big-band swing in New York, shaping what would later become known as Latin jazz.
In 1968, with Machito Goes Memphis, he took an unexpected turn. Recorded for RCA Victor, the album reimagines American soul and R&B hits with a bold Latin-funk twist.
The standout track is his dancefloor-ready version of Hold On, I’m Comin’ (originally by Sam & Dave, written by Isaac Hayes and David Porter). The song bursts with lively horn arrangements and soul-drenched Latin grooves that land perfectly somewhere between Stax and Havana.
