There are records that aren’t actually expensive – but they’re almost impossible to find. That’s the case with this LP by the little-known musician M.L. Allen Jr. from Indianapolis. On the small gospel label Versa Records out of Toledo, Ohio, he released the album I Know That's Right.

One of its standouts: a remarkable version of the traditional spiritual Wade In The Water. Here, traditional gospel collides with drum machine, guitar, and piano – topped off by M.L. Allen Jr.’s own sermon-like delivery.
