Once again, it’s tape only. One of those CoverLove stories you only find if you dig really deep.
The legendary Indonesian rock band God Bless released their self-titled debut album in the early 1970s and hid a small surprise on it: a version of the Beatles’ Eleanor Rigby that appeared exclusively on the cassette. The song is completely missing from the LP.
God Bless are considered pioneers of Indonesian rock and prog. Raw, loud, and internationally minded. Their version of Eleanor Rigby leaves the chamber-like original far behind and goes for pure rock energy and dramatic tension.
A Beatles classic turned into a five-minute rock epic from the other side of the world.
