Glim Spanky is a Japanese rock duo made up of vocalist and guitarist Remi Matsuo and lead guitarist Hiroki Kamemoto. Since 2015, they’ve been releasing albums and singles that blend retro rock, psychedelia, and modern J-pop.

In 2018, they released a nice 10-inch record: on it, they deliver a powerful, rock-infused J-pop version of Carole King’s classic I Feel the Earth Move – packed with distortion, vintage drive, and a voice that grabs your attention. 

At times, Remi Matsuo sounds like a Japanese Janis Joplin – raw, fierce, and full of emotion.
