Fraser & DeBolt were the Canadian folk duo Allan Fraser and Daisy DeBolt. On their 1971 debut album Fraser & DeBolt With Ian Guenther, they were joined by violinist Ian Guenther. 

The liner notes particularly emphasise the spontaneity of the music and the close interplay between voices, guitar, and violin.

Closing the album is their version of «Don’t Let Me Down». The Beatles song was released in 1969, with John Lennon’s intense vocals and the understated groove at the heart of the original.

Fraser & DeBolt strip the song down to voices, guitar, and violin, but their version is anything but quiet throughout. Again and again, the duo throw themselves into the vocals and suddenly let loose. It’s precisely this contrast between restrained, almost fragile passages and intense outbursts that makes their version so emotional and captivating.
