כמו אישה (Just Like A Woman)
Danny Maseng
התקליט, 1975

Danny Maseng was born in 1950 in Tel Aviv – the son of a Norwegian-American pilot and a U.S.-born woman raised in a strict Orthodox Jewish family. Later, he moved to the United States, performed on Broadway, and moved fluidly between worlds.
In 1975, he released his debut album in Israel, אלבום ראשון (Albom Rishon) – internationally also known as First Edition. Musically it sits somewhere between ’70s folk rock and Israeli pop, but the real treasure lies on the B-side: six Bob Dylan cover versions – sung in Hebrew.
With this, Maseng became the very first musician to record Dylan songs in Hebrew. His voice and guitar remain true to the folk-rock spirit of the ’60s, but the Hebrew lyrics give the songs a completely new shade – poetic, melancholic, and deeply rooted in Israeli culture.
Dylan goes Hebrew – shalom & folk rock!
